Why choose West House?

Cafe West team

The team at Cafe West Workington Library

First and foremost, we are a local care provider – not a big, anonymous national company.  We have been operating in Cumbria for over 30 years and our employees are local people. Our work is based on our reputation and our results are visible in the local community.

We genuinely have the best interests of the people we support at heart. If we think we are not the best people to support you, we will signpost you to other organisations.

The Elms – an outstanding service

All of our services are rated ‘good’ or ‘oustanding’ by CQC and Ofsted.  Check them out here.

Board members

The West House Management Board

We’re run by real people – our Management Board is made up of people we support, family carers, and supporters from the local community.  This means we always have the voice of the most important people at the heart of our organisation.

Training and development

We invest heavily in staff training.  All our staff have to undertake the Care Certificate and Safeguarding and Dignity training as part of their induction.

PeopleWe have a good relationship with many local partners including schools, colleges, Inspira, adult education, local health professionals, transition services and adult social care. This means we can integrate our services with other support you might be receiving.

Our focus is on supporting you to be the best version of you – we work creatively to support people in the way they want and with the support they choose to do this.
