It’s important that people report incidents like this . It’s hate crime . I hope he’s recovered and those responsible are found and prosecuted .

People should show some respect . My nephew has learning difficulties and his manners are extremely good, all credit to his wonderful Step mother Sue xx

I hope the police find the guys responsible. Its disgusting that people think that sort of behaviour is acceptable or funny. Hope the poor gentleman sees that not everyone is bad like those men.

Bless him xx

To the men in the works van who thought it was acceptable yesterday to shout abuse at a gentleman with a learning disability walking through the middle of Workington, please have a think about your behaviour and the hurt and upset you cause. There really wasn’t any need for it, he was just walking home 🙁 ... See MoreSee Less

Grown men!!! Oh I wish you had there names or who they work for to name and shame.

Only one with a problem. It's the workman ggrr

There is no justification for this thuggish behaviour.

That’s disgusting behaviour ..it’s a pity no one took their number plate..😡

Dispicable , absolutely no need at all hope they are ashamed of there behaviour 😡😡

It makes me angry with people like that hope he ok ❤️

Some people don't have the brains they were born with.

He might have learning difficulties but I bet he has the kindest soul and the purest of hearts... people are so closed minded.... it rages me! Why can’t people live and let live? Don’t judge... sympathise... everyone has their differences, embrace them 💕 Tell him to keep his chin up, he brings more beauty to the world than that creature ever will 🥰

Shocking behaviour 😱 poor guy x

No need for it. People need to stop and think before they act

Name and shame the work van 😡😡😡

Disgraceful 😡

Hope the chap that this happened to gets comfort from the comments. Thank goodness there are a lot more good people around than bad!

Oh my heart 😥this breaks it!! Just what goes through peoples heads!! ignorant and unfeeling xx

Awful behaviour - they should be ashamed!! 😡
