‘While we try to teach our children all about life,
our children teach us what life is all about’
Angela Schwindt
West House currently receives money from Cumbria County Council to deliver a sitting service for children with disabilities under the age of 8. This funding comes from ‘Aiming High for Disabled Children’ and enables us to deliver a small number of hours a week to provide a service to enable families and carers to have a break.
Care and support can be offered within the family home, allowing you and your family the opportunity to go out and enjoy some social time of your own.
This option can also be used to introduce you and your child to their support worker, giving you all a chance to get to know each other in familiar and relaxed surroundings.
This support can be delivered at home, supporting the child to an activity or at Wild West in Cockermouth.
