Specialist Support

‘The most basic of all human needs is the need to understand and be understood. The best way to understand people is to listen to them.’

Specialist Support
Community Support Services offers a wide range of support to people who require a higher level of support and individualised service provision.

We successfully provide positive specialist Community based support for people who challenge and who find it difficult to access mainstream services. This support is delivered on a 1-1 or 2-1 basis.

Services are individually designed to provide structure and boundaries in relation to inappropriate and infringing behaviours whilst ensuring opportunities and experiences are sought to engage people in line with their interests within their own communities.

This approach is instrumental in promoting positive personal development, community participation and social inclusion.

Our approach ensures we are continually looking to facilitate support that enables people to foster more appropriate behaviours, develop their understanding, self control and ways of dealing with and communicating negative feelings and emotions.

This work underpins our commitment to and highlights our success in providing services that are both quality outcome focused and efficient, positive engagement leading to reduction in the need for specialist intervention and out of county placements.

This lessens the need for emergency respite and admission into assessment centres.
